It is architectural stunning and has an abundant of cobbled streets and tourist attractions that provide a beautiful playground for an avid photographer or travel blogger.

Three Days in Krakow?

Day One - Settle in to the city by taking a stroll around the old main square which is surrounded by towering structures of historic beauty. The Cloth hall and St Mary’s Basilica stand tall and significant, while Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral proudly sits on top of a hill symbolizing the protective structure of the city.

There are many canopy drawn cafes surrounding the old square which provides you with a perfect viewing point of the central point of the city. Take some time to relax and soak in the atmosphere over a latte!

Wawel Royal Castle & Cathedral

This royal architectural basilica of Saint Stanislaus & Wenceslaus on Wawel hill is a Roman catholic church and the coronation site of the polish monarchs. It also houses the royal tombs and local museum and is well worth a stroll to immerse yourself in the cities culture right away! Just taking in the atmosphere of the area is a perfect evening in itself.

Why not get a horse drawn carriage from the main square down to the castle?

Or a fantastic boat tour around the Vistula river to take in the sights. The perfect way to end a day in the city.

Day Two

Krakow Old Town

Krakow Old Town also referred to as the Stare Miasto district is surrounded by a beautiful park, - Planty Park which was the first place inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It centres your visit for Krakow and offers you an escape from the bustling streets.

The Cloth Hall St Mary’s Basilica

The cloth hall, a Renaissance inspired structure is a central feature within the old town market square. It became an UNESCO heritage site in 1978 and it is only a short stroll to St Mary’s Basilica. This Gothic church which was built in the 14th century is a fantastically large structure that offers a beautiful backdrop for photographers on a sunny day!

Floriańska Street

Considered to be one of the most famous and prestigious shopping streets in Poland. It is located along what is called the Royal Route, an ancient road built in the 13th century, which starts at St. Florian’s Gate, which was one of the main city gates, and goes all the way to the Wawel Royal Castle.

St. Florian’s Gate is a jewel of medieval Gothic architecture, and is part of the Barbican defence complex. It is one of the few remains of the mighty medieval city walls. Floriańska Street goes all the way to the Main market Sq.

Rynek Underground Museum

Located under the central square of Krakow, the museum is an excellent reproduction of how Krakow looked in medieval times, when it was one of the most important European cities for trade and culture.

The Princes Czartoryski Museum

Founded in 1796 by Princess Izabela Czartoryska, it is the oldest museum in Krakow. It is located inside the Palace of the Museum of the Czartoryski Princes and the two most important masterpieces of the collection are “Lady with an Ermine” by Leonardo da Vinci and “Landscape with the Good Samaritan” by Rembrandt.

Time to spare? - Church of Sts Peter and Paul

If you are a lover of classical music or can appreciate a fantastic organ & orchestra combination then this one hour performance is not to be missed. Only costing 40PLN, this fantastic show sets you up for your evening of culture. 7pm recitals. Church of Sts Peter and Paul, ul. Grodzka 52a

Day Three- Auschwitz - Birkenau

The public transport system is fantastic in Poland. A public bus is easily accessible from the main bus station only a few minutes walk from Old Town. You can book your tickets online for your day trip to Auschwitz which takes a little over an hour.

Jut a short drive from Krakow, Auschwitz still stands as one of the most famous tourist attractions in the region. History lovers will appreciate the remnants and artefacts that sombrely tell the story of so many lost souls. There is a rule of silence throughout the entire grounds of Auschwitz, and this eerie feeling will stir up many emotions within a person as you walk on land where many lost their lives in years gone by.

You will need a few hours to walk the entire grounds and a guided tour is necessary. Don’t rush, - this place will stay with you forever.
